Boat weight must be lighter than Super Sport, more like 1200 pounds Capsuled or roll cages in all boats. Motors using parts that are easy to obtain, reasonably priced and plentiful. Stock 20 inch mid sections, production powerheads and parts. Who builds the boats? we need to get them involved in the latest discussion at the APBA National meeting about Capsule size and head room concerns, back support, discussion of seat thats molded to driver.

Some things that need to be are: 1- stock motors 2- stock standard gearcases( cle, sportmasters)No xr-6 modded cases 3-stock mids 20' 4- realistic weights 1250-1350#'s 5- Some way of keeping 2.0, 2.4, 2.5 motors equal (weight penelty for running larger motors?) I just had a few ideas..... Lets here yours!!!

Thanks for providing the forum! I agree on the weight. You can't make these boats overly heavy they just don't like it. As for engines that is a tougher subject. If you allow all the older engines and must run stock then who is around that knows what stock is? Engine inspections will be time consuming. The old Mod-VP class was very successful with modified powerheads. Of course these days cost is important to attract racers to the class. I race RC Mod-VP and the class is doing very well in our district. I had every intention of building a lifesize version of my boat back in the 90's. Then the class went belly up. I would like to see it come back but a firm set of rules locked in for lets say 3 to 5 years would be important. That would keep out all the people (and engine companies) who want the rules favored just for them.

Why not make an efi class and a carb class. Carb class low budget basically stock ,efi class wide open limit merc efi to 2.0 and 2.4 allow low water pickups enclosed cells mandatory
